DiscoverEU Meet up in Tampere, Finland
Experience the youthful energy of Finland’s industrial heart!
Tampere, the sauna capital of the world and a dynamic student city, invites you to a unique Meet up where tradition meets innovation. This city combines vibrant urban culture with amazing landscapes such as the two beautiful lakes surrounding it.
Participants of the Meet up will stay for three nights in mixed dormitories at a local hostel. The package includes three breakfasts, two lunches, and three dinners, along with all activities and a two-day ticket for public transportation in Tampere.
All you need to do is book and cover your travel tickets to the city and ensure your personal insurance coverage. Located in the heart of Finland, Tampere is easily accessible by several daily 1,5-2 hours trains from Helsinki and Turku (where you can arrive by ferry from Sweden or Estonia).
The Meet up takes place from Wednesday evening 20th to Saturday morning 23rd of August. It promotes nonformal and informal learning and includes:
- Exploring Tampere’s historic and cultural landmarks
- Guided visits to local museums

Detailed program will be shared with selected participants.
There is room for a maximum of 16 participants. The event is open to those traveling with their DiscoverEU pass at the time of the Meet up or former DiscoverEU travelers and now DiscoverEU ambassadors from Finland.
Please let us know through the registration form if you have any special needs. The Meet up follows safer space principles to ensure a welcoming environment for all participants.
