2 months of alternating work on theater circus skills in supporting children and young people with these skills. In addition to the performances with children and young people, there is also the development of our own theater circus performance. The topic is determined jointly by all those involved and should relate to Europe at the moment and current world events. The means are a mixture of “Physical Theater”, “Modern Circus” and “Expression in Movement & Art”. The work is supplemented with movement meditation from Feldenkrais, yoga and impulse resonance learning. Overall, the work resembles a shared movement laboratory. activities overview: 1-8 Jul: support of an international youth project (Expression in Movement & Art) one week of introducing training 22 Jul- 2 Aug: accompanying 3 x 5 day circus and movement projects with local kids training trip with street theater performances 12-23 Aug: accompanying 2 x 5 day theatre projects with local kids 26 Aug: final performance

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Accomodation: in the beginning, you will stay at a local campsite, where the youth project takes place. After that, you will be in shared appartments in Mainz or Wiesbaden. Please be prepared to share a room, in some cases a double bed with another volunteer of the same sex. Food: During the youth project, meals are included. In the kid's project, there is a lunch included. For days without meal offer, you will receive 13 EUR, when lunch is provided, you will receive 8 EUR. Public transportation ticket will be provided, excluding long distance trains Pocket Money: 7 EUR per day

Training during the activity

In the second and sixth week, there will be trainings, preparing you for the work with local kids and your own performance in the end of the volunteering project.

Participant profile

We are looking for volunteers who are really motivated to improve their performance skills and to work with children and youths, as well as in a team. Our programme is quite precisely fixed around certain project dates, so you have to be available. Please be prepared to stay in a tent and to share rooms/double beds. IN YOUR MOTIVATION STATEMENT, PLEASE REFER ESPECIALLY TO OUR PROJECT'S DESIGN AND PROGRAM. WE DO NOT CONSIDER APPLICANTS WITH A GENERIC STATEMENT.
