Description

Your role within the host organization will be to promote volunteering and civic engagement for the benefit of organizations, institutions, and individuals, as well as to provide comprehensive support to those interested in these activities. You will assist the host organization with daily tasks and support other ESC volunteers. Additionally, you will help organize charity events, international projects, ESC team volunteering projects, and promote the ESC program. Your responsibilities will include supporting the ESC coordinator with team volunteering projects, coordinating with volunteers from partner organizations, and organizing integration events for ESC volunteers in the Tri-City area (Gdańsk, Gdynia, and Sopot).

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

You will be accommodated in a shared apartment together with other international volunteers, shared 2 volunteers in the room. The flat is equipped with the most necessary things. Additionally, you will receive a monthly allowance as pocket money, along with a separate allowance as food money. You will be provided with a monthly city card for buses and trams, to travel from home to the office. The travel from Italy to Poland and back is fully reimbursed. An insurance company will protect you from any risk.

Training during the activity

You'll attend 3 official training sessions: a pre-departure one before leaving Italy, an on arrival one a few weeks after your advent in Poland and a third one at around half of your volunteering. After arriving, you will have support of hosting organization stuff to be introduced into the activities of the office. In addition, a meeting will be organized every 1 to 2 months with your coordinator or tutor to discuss your feelings and ideas. You’ll be also provided with course of Polish.

Participant profile

You are an ideal volunteer if you are dynamic, sociable, and responsible, with a flexible attitude and a readiness to assist with office tasks. Enthusiasm for working with diverse groups, particularly youth, is essential. A genuine interest in volunteering is crucial. While previous experience and qualifications, especially in office work and presentations, are beneficial, they are not required.
