ENGIM in Guinea-Bissau focuses on vocational training, strengthening CIFAP school through teacher training and new courses for youth. It has also launched the country's first micro-enterprise incubator, supporting young entrepreneurs in early business development stages. The volunteer will assist the local team in administrative and communication tasks. Main tasks: Support administrative activities, document management and filing. Assistance in preparing financial reports and managing project expenses. Collaborate in the management of purchases and procurement. Collaborate to ensure that activities comply with administrative procedures. Assistance in internal audit activities and support in coordination with other departments. Maintain accounting records. Update website and social media, creating communication materials that highlight project details Tutoring on Webex for distance learning: managing connections, moderating comments, handling post-production of videos
Alloggio, vitto e trasporto
The volunteer will be accommodated in a shared apartment with basic services (electricity, cold water, gas for cooking). The apartment, located within the CIFAP premises, includes a shared kitchen and living room, while the bedroom with a private bathroom is for the exclusive use of the volunteer. A security guard is present for safety. Wi-Fi is available only during working hours. A monthly allowance of €800 will be provided, covering food and local transport. A laptop will be provided, and reimbursement for mobile phone expenses is included.
Formazione durante l'attività
Pre-departure training on local context, ongoing programs, humanitarian principles and security. On-site and pre-departure training on administrative, accounting and management topics, intercultural approaches and communication in the non-profit sector. Learning in the workplace in a multicultural and multidisciplinary team. The volunteer will receive briefings/training with different departments related to the mission and the position.
Profilo del partecipante
Preferred (non-mandatory) degrees in Economics, Administration Sciences, International Cooperation, Political Science, International Relations, Communication Sciences, Marketing, Social Media Management, or related fields. Good communication and writing skills. Good organizational skills and attention to detail. Basic knowledge of accounting and document management. Prior experience in administration is preferred. Ability to work in diverse and complex environments. Ability to work in a multicultural team. Organizational and problem-solving skills. Autonomy and ability to prioritize tasks. Ability to adapt to a humble environment and simple lifestyle, work collaboratively, and share living and working spaces with others. Proficiency in both Portuguese (B1) and Italian (B1) is preferred. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google suite, Wordpress. Candidates must be 18 to 35 years old, reside in one of the eligible countries (EU Member State, North Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Turkey), have completed the compulsory Humanitarian Aid Volunteering training and not have participated before in individual Humanitarian Aid Volunteering. When adding together this new volunteering opportunity and any previous participation in EU volunteering programmes, the total duration cannot exceed 12 months.
