Impact through Scouting

Beschreibung der Tätigkeit

The project will bring 4 volunteers from 4 different countries to have a long-term EVS supporting The Scout Association of Malta and Ghajn Tuffieha International Campsite both in its building and nature maintenance, administration, reception as well as campsite and national activities. The activities being proposed will be done within a scouting context and hence it would be better that volunteers love being outdoors, working in a team as well as helping out with young scouts. Beitrag zu Unterbringung, Verpflegung und Reisekosten

Shared accommodation will initially be provided at St Pauls Bay, with all necessary utilities (including kitchen, washing machine and internet). Accommodation will then be offered in a shared apartment. A monthly allowance (Euro160) is given for food expenses at the start of each month. Apart from this, each volunteer is entitled to Euro 5 daily as monthly pocket money. A Public Transport Card is provided free of charge along with free monthly top up. This allows the volunteer to travel freely within the Maltese islands both during volunteering hours and free time.

Fortbildung im Rahmen der Tätigkeit

This EVS experience is aimed at supporting each volunteer to discover hidden talents and support his/her learning course. The experience will provide: External -Introduction to Health and Safety Awareness -Basic First Aid Course -Possibly Fire-fighting Course -On Arrival Training -Mid-Term Training -Online Language System (ENGLISH only) Internal -1-2 week Intro to Project & Malta -Team Building Activity every month -2 day Course (Introduction to Scouting) -E-learning Modules regarding Scouting and Leadership Course -Group Support Preparation & Integration

Teilnehmerprofil

A volunteer from Turkey & the Czech Republic is still needed. They will join the project which started in mid-Feb 2019 with a Lithuanian and Italian volunteer. Apply via evs@scout.org.mt All participants from different strata of the society are welcome to volunteer as long as they uphold the Scout Promise and the Scout Law (can be accessed on http://www.scout.org/node/64) during their volunteering placement. The participants need to have an open mind and be able to work and communicate with a number of people and local volunteers
