Activity description
The After Schools Club provides a purposeful activity in a secure environment in an attempt to meet the physical, emotional and intellectual needs of children aged 5 - 11 years of age. These children are specifically targeted by Solas Project because they are at risk of early school leaving due to social and educational disadvantage. We cater for up to 35 children in inner city Dublin. The Club strives to be a home away from home. We provide the structure of sitting around a table to have a meal, helping with homework, and doing a fun activity together. What's involved in this role? - Getting to know the children, building up rapport and having fun with them, 1-1 and in groups. - Supervising mealtime, activity time and motivating the children to participate and engage with the programme. - Organising and initiating activities and free play for the children. - Preparing and serving food for the children. - Cleaning up programme space on a daily basis.Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
