Wat houdt de activiteit in?

APCC, the Cerebral Palsy Association of Coimbra, PORTUGAL, offers volunteer opportunities working with DISABLED CHILDREN AND ADULTS! PROJECT DESCRIPTION The EVS project activities will involve several of APCC's services, namely the Rehabilitation Center, three Residential Units, and Conraria Farm (Quinta da Conraria). Both the Rehabilitation Center and the Residential Units are located near the city center in a lively and rather green area, close to the University and various other higher education colleges. The Conraria Farm is located about 6 km away from Coimbra, is about 600,000 square feet, and hosts several occupational activities as well as vocational training. It also hosts a Biological Farm, an Adventure Farm, a Learning Farm and a Riding School.

Regelingen voor accommodatie, eten, en vervoer

The volunteers’ housing accommodations will be near the work placement, in a first floor apartment, close to APCC’s premises. The flat has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a kitchen. The house has all necessities (bed linens, bath towels, clothes washing machine, TV) and will also have wireless internet access. When necessary, volunteers will use public transportation (most likely buses within the city) and the cost will be covered with weekly bus passes issued for all the volunteers. All food necessities will be provided by APCC

Wat leer je?

All volunteers will participate in information sessions with APCC staff to supply them with the necessary theoretical tools for the development of the different activities. The On-Arrival training will be arranged by the National Agency and will take place shortly after arrival, along with the Mid-Term training, near the mid-point of the project. During the second month of volunteering, and in the months following, the volunteers will participate in some activities already developed by APCC and will also help with the implementation of new activities. They will have online portuguese lessons.
