Volunteer assistants

Activity description

Frivilligsentralen/ Fjaler Voluntary Service coordinate the voluntary projects for EVS in Dale and give the volunteers the opportunity to come in contact with different people and tasks and to learn about daily living and culture of Fjaler (2800 inh) and Norway. This is done by making a full week schedule. Regular tasks will be in kindergarden, school, library, leisure, with refugees and mental challenged and in local volunteer organisations for leisure, sport and culture. The main tasks and base will be in ungdomsskulen where the office is situated and in activities for youth and in BUA Fjaler with renting out leisure equipment, all owned owned by Fjaler kommune. The volunteers will also take part in the Theaterfestival in Fjaler in September. According to the volunteers qualities, we will make the project to fit the volunteer and to help out in the local borough. From 2022 we can receive volunteers, but need sender organisations to include us

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The volunteers we host in Dale will share a well equipped house for free in the center of Dale. You will be given money for food and allowance.

Training during the activity

The volunteers will take part in the on-arrival training and mid-term evaluation given by the Norwegaian Agency. All other need for training will be given by the local project, like Norwegian lessons

Participant profile

We are looking for 4 openminded and motivated youth (two girls/ two boys) from 4 different countries who will like to live on the countryside with lots of nice nature on the west part of Norway and with sometimes challenging weather; dark, wet and cold, but also the opposite! Are you interested to take part in outdoor life, sport, youth activities, theatre, dance, music and have skills acc to this, it is perfect!
