Descripción de la actividad

The 12th edition of "Activating Youth" - a volunteering project that is beign developed since 2013, and that had host dozens of young volunteers on its previous editions, following the main goal of developing a new culture of youth participation at a local level in Faro & at a regional level in Algarve. The Activating Youth IX is a project that have open several vacancies volunteers: 1 - Youth Lab - s.This is a project ECOS has developed in partnership with IPDJ & Rede MOVE that includes a weekly info sessions in several spaces in Faro 2 - Cience Inclusive Programme - Inclusive Science Programme - This activity results of the needs of CCVAlg & other local organisations working with children & young people with fewer opportunities in Faro. 3 - Social Inclusion in Roma Communities is an host placement where the volunteers will have the opportunity to experience the work of social inclusion and fight against poverty in one of the oldest social districts of Faro.

Alojamiento, manutención y transporte

The volunteers will be hosted in a private house in the city of Faro. Each volunteer will have their own room and the house will be fully equipped (kitchen, fridge, washing machine, furniture, beddings and cutlery) ensuring their safe hygienic and pleasant experience. The volunteers will receive each month pocket money according to the rules of the programme and as food allowance. For the international transportation costs the flights must follow the amount stated by the rules of the new program ERASMUS+.

Formación durante la actividad

ECOS will provide the volunteers with a programmed learning cycle that includes 1 Induction training in the first weeks upon the arrival; 2 Mid-term evaluation & a Final evaluation during the last month of the project. Also, different occasional workshops will take place during the project, according to the learning needs of the volunteers and the local partner organisations, for the benefit of the personal and professional development ant their experience. The volunteer will have access to On-Arrival and Mid-Term training, in case, provided by the Portuguese National Agency.

Perfil del participante

-dynamic and motivated; -responsible and sympathetic; -thriving when working in a multicultural and international team; -will possess knowledge, experience and/or high motivation to work on Non-formal learning and Mobility, Social Media and Image Communication or Social Inclusion of Roma and immigrants minorities; -have previous volunteering experience at local level; -able to communicate in English
