Wat houdt de activiteit in?

Would you like to inspire young people with your passion for dancing, crafting, music, sport or acting? Then have a further look to our Volunteering Service in the youth center “Hugo” in Jena. It is a great space for kids and juveniles aged 12 to 21 years. They can spend their free time in this open house. The work is based on young people’s everyday life and in their own social surroundings. The principles of the youth work are based on participation, voluntariness, easy access and appreciation towards young people. We focus on drop-in programs, which offer a variety of regular proposals. Each day young people can discover a special activity. According to the interests of the youngsters music, sport, media, art, youth education and politics can be explored. During vacation time we also arrange special offers such as excursions. We help young people to develop different abilities to shape their free time and we encourage them to take part in educational programs after school.

Regelingen voor accommodatie, eten, en vervoer

ACCOMMODATION: You will live in a flat together with other young people. We are looking for a flat that will be close to the city center and not far from our organisation. But we have to say that it is hard to find a flat in Jena so that it could be possible that you live in Weimar – a very nice student city near to Jena . FOOD: In the beginning of each month you will receive money for groceries. TRANSPORT: We support you with the organisation of your travel to Jena. The costs will be covered by us . We will provide a ticket for public transport if you need it and we will offer you a nice bike

Wat leer je?

- german course according to your language skills - opportunity to acquire the youth leader card (Juleica) - possibility to participate in further education - participation in the arrival seminar and mid-term seminar - learn methods, skills and non-formal learning tools

Wie zoeken we?

YOU SHOULD BRING: -age: 24-30 -a passion, hobby or formal education you could share with the youngsters in the following subjects: play instrument or recording music, creativity with DIY and crafting, do any sports, play theatre or dance etc. -basic knowledge of German and basic English -love it to communicate with different kind of people and to work with youth groups -to work in the afternoon, evening, on weekends. IT WOULD BE NICE IF YOU: -have experiences in organisation of projects and group leading -have an extroverted personality and the ability to work independently
