Activity description

The goal of the project, through the promotion of the value of solidarity activities and the actions promoted by Europe, is to spread good examples of community regeneration, active citizenship, participation, shared management of heritage and the common good, sustainable development in internal areas and small municipalities with the support of civil and circular economy strategies. All in the context of a necessary restart following the emergency from the Covid-19 pandemic which put the entire territory of the Aniene Valley in difficulty. he activities are focused around the Il Casone environmental education center. Volunteers will work with different target groups to spread the values ​​of sustainability and recognition of territory through specific environmental education and animation activities, cultural events and meetings, participation in the stakeholder network, construction of proposals related to slow tourism, development and regeneration. We can accept only EU countries!

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Food and lodgement costs offered by the coordinating organization are covered at 100% by the project. Volunteers will receive pocket money every month for food and personal expenses. Accommodation: an apartment in the village shared with the other volunteers, with a kitchen and common spaces, wifi connection. Volunteers will live in Anticoli Corrado, 50km from Rome. They will have an annual pass for public transport valid valid for all journeys within the region. They will be able to use a car and several bicycles to travel around the village. They can bring their own car.

Training during the activity

Italian language with the official online course and a specific training with a native speaker. Mandatory training about the European Solidarity Corps and the volunteering values. Training for working with children, management of a hosting structure, environmental education, and several non formal trainings about: HACCP and risk prevention, Covid-19 protocols, green jobs, groups management, specific softwares, italian culture etc

Participant profile

Interested in the environment, in living in the country and in a little village, in arts and craft, in working with children and in managing a hosting structure. Age 18-30, motivated and willing to live one year abroad. The volunteers will be selected not so much for their particular background but for their motivation to participate and contribute to the success of the project through the provision of their own personal contribution. We prefer cheerful and helpful people who are willing to share and work in groups. To ensure gender balance, we are looking for at least one male.
