EU.motion: Community & Youth Work - Volunteering and arts

Activity description

Youth centre Kotlovnica (MCK) is looking for 2 volunteers. OUR WORK-We accept the initiatives and wishes of all young people throughout the year – That is why our main focus is on culture, entertainment and being informative. We include youth in the process of creating and implementing activities so that they become active attendees. WORKING AT THE YOUTH CENTRE You will help with the implementation of old and with the design and implementation of new content for our youth centre. You will help with theatre events, concerts, festivals, exhibitions, workshops, mainly preparing the venue, working at the bar, working as a light technician, helping backstage, performing or just participating in a workshop or playing video/board games. You will prepare your own events with the help of mentors–organising workshops or social events where young people are able to be active participants, whether in-person or online. The project will have a duration of 6/9 month agreed with each volunteer.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Accommodation – There is a recently renovated apartment in the same building as our youth centre. It can host 3 volunteers and consists of kitchen-dining-living area, one shower, one toilet with sink, and three single rooms with bed, table, and wardrobe. Individual support, 122 EUR of individual support per month, Food money,178 EUR of food money each month. Both transferred to your bank account. Traveling to Slovenia and back – We will reimburse your travel expences up to 275 EUR. Local transportation – When your transportation inside Slovenia is done as part of a project.

Training during the activity

Training – You will attend on-arrival and mid-term trainings that are organised by Slovenian National agency Movit. Given the current COVID circumstance, these trainings are likely to be organised online. Linguistic support – You will receive Online Linguistic Support for learning the Slovene language. The first assessment of your knowledge of Slovene language will be done before your arrival to Slovenia and you will complete the second assessment at the end of your project. In between, you'll be able to use an online language course.

Participant profile

Nationality – one Portuguese participant. Age – Between 18 and 30 years of age. Skills – You don't need any specific knowledge, but we need you to be interested in cultural and artistic activities and be motivated for learning new skills. Being active on social networks (FB, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, etc.) is definitely a plus! Previous ERASMUS+ or ESC activities – We are looking for someone who has never participated in a long term European Voluntary Service or European Solidarity Corps activity. It's ok if you participated in a short term activity that lasted up to 59 days.
