Organic dairy farming in The Netherlands

STICHTING INTERNATIONALE WERKKAMPEN
Beekhoeve
Kamerik, Netherlands
Description
Learn and live on a unique organic dairy farm at the countryside of the Netherlands. This farm is run by a family passionate about their organic dairy products. The milk comes from their own cows. Together with the other ESC volunteer you connect with the farmer's daily life: you get up in the morning to milk the cows, help making raw milk products such as butter, yoghurt and cheese, sell these products in their shop and have dinner together. After your participation, you know more about organic dairy and farming. You can even tell educational stories about the farm. With this program you are encouraged to come up with your own ideas and to follow the Dutch language course. Farmer Koos and his family are passionate about their products, the promotion of a healthy/alternative life style, and for you to learn about organic farming in an intimate and educational way. For further information about the host organisation (and photos) visit their website: https://beekhoeve.eu/
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
This project is available for one volunteer. You live on the farm's premises with a shared loft overlooking the cow's stable with the other ESC participant. The loft is equipped with a kitchen. Toilet and shower are downstairs in the same building. You are welcomed into the daily life and routine of the family. Meals are often shared with the family, which is part of your participation. Healthy eating with organic products is promoted. Transportation costs are (partly) covered. We encourage green modes of transportation.
