Volunteering in a Montessori school in France

Description de l’activité

The Montessori school "Les souris vertes" offers a mission for the 2022-2023 school year to help in the organisation of the educational and administrative of the structure. With the support of a team of 5 employees and 2 volunteers, you participate in the implementation of discovery activities and workshops for children from 3 to 10 years old. More specifically, you will participate in the implementation of English workshops. You will learn the basics of the Montessori pedagogy and you will participate in cultural, intercultural and linguistic opening of the children (German, English).

Modalités d'hébergement, de restauration et de transport

The volunteer will share his.her accomodation with other volunteers. The flat is in Senones, 5 minutes walking from the school. It is located in a rural area.

Formation pendant l’activité

During the stay, the volunteer will discover the Montessori pedagogy by exercising within the structure but also by having the opportunity to participate in training provided by the school during the holidays. In addidtion s.he will participate in the on-arrival training and the mid-term training provided by the Erasmus+ Agency. The team is composed of three people, volunteers and civic service volunteers who contribute to the implementation of the educational project. One of the teachers speaks English and will be able to accompany the volunteers in their mission and daily life.

Profil du participant

We are looking for 2 volunteers interested in working with children, so patient, caring and motivated. We would also like volunteers who are fluent in English to help the production and the facilitation of English workshops. Ideally, volunteers open minded about ecology, climate issues and alternative pedagogies would be great too.
