Activity description

ECOCOMPATIMOS is an NGO which has a second-hand charity shop where different things are sold: books, toys, pictures, handmade products, etc where volunteers could do lot of activities:  Customer relation explaining how our shop works and giving dates.  Reception, classification and marked donated things  Give information about our projects  Organization of workshops or courses: crafts for children  Continue with English language courses for adults and kids  Participating in intercultural mornings  Presentations in schools and organizations  Creating promotional materials  Support events with practical help  Updating and organizing webpage  Dissemination of information and news in ECOCOMPARTIMOS social network  Propose new collaboration ideas  Motivation, information and awareness of young people towards volunteering and participation  Information and guidance to young people about European Voluntary Service

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Volunteers will live in an apartment in Illescas (32Km far from Madrid or Toledo) with shared kitchen, living room and bathroom. Each volunteer has their own room. They are responsible for keeping the apartment clean and organized. Apartment is equipped with all things necessary for comfortable living and limited internet connection is available. They will receive 120€ pocket money and money for food every month. Cigna insurance is included. Volunteers will have a bike disponible.

Training during the activity

Volunteers will receive a training from the organization when they arrive to learn how to do every task. They also will attend the on arrival training and the middle evaluation provided by the Spanish Nacional Agency.

Participant profile

Volunteer has to be sociable, adaptable and creative. He or she has to like kids because some of the activities will be related to them. Volunteer has to speak English because some of the workshops we offer are in english, but is not necessary he/she speaks Spanish. Volunteer has to be very motivated for staying in a foreing country for 12 months. We will appreciate if the volunteer has knowledge of photoshop to create posters.
