Integration of refugees in Austria (Looking for a male volunteer)

InterAktion (en.verein-interaktion.org) is a non-profit association active in the field of human rights, sustainability, integration of the young people from migrant families and refugees, aiming to encourage intercultural dialogues between the people from different backgrounds and cultures through non-formal educational methods. We organize Erasmus+ youth exchanges to encourage young people to become active and responsible citizens. We focus on raising awareness among the young people about the global challenges and sustainable systems and help them understand sustainability as the product of a complex system, that starts with personal and collective attitudes. We support young men seeking refugee status in Styria and organise leisure activities for the. As our target group is young unaccompanied male refugees, we look for a male volunteer to support our team and help organise leisure activities, such as cooking, sport, excursions, etc. Look at our IG account: @meet_the_volunteer.

Logi, mad og transport

Accommodation provided by a host organisation (a private room in Graz or Leoben). Pocket money in Austrai is 5 Eur/Day, money for self-supplz is 8 Eur/Day. Local transport costs are reimbursed.

Oplæring under aktiviteten

The Volunteer will participate at an On Arrival Training and a Mid Term Training. German course is proovided. On going support and training will be provided by host organisation. By applying the methods of non-formal and informal learning, you will have the opportunity to work directly with our target group (young refugees) and help them feel self-empowered and be able to better raise their voice in public discourses by enhancing their knowledge on political participation, cooperation, democracy, conflict resolution. With our support you will be able to develop workshops and leisure activities

Deltagerens profil

We are looking for a male volunteer, because our target group is male refugees, who accept male figure as a role model. We look for an active, initiative and mature volunteer, who is willing to develop his workshops and leisure activities. Also, we need support in our office with communication and PR (such as informing about our activities through social media).
