Activity description
CGE Erfurt e.V. is a non-profit NGO running many large-scale international projects, across Europe and the globe, from the EU, to Uzbekistan, the Phillipines, and beyond. Our projects work with urban activists, young people, migrants, universities, NGOs and local communities. This ESK placement is an opportunity to observe and engage within a complex and rewarding international project management environments. The ideal volunteer has some experience in the adminsitration of international or NGO projects & the flexibility to cooperate within a diverse team (with 10 different nationalities in our Erfurt office!). This is an opportunity to collect experiences in project conceptualisation, implementation and evaluation, with the aim to build solidarity at the local, EU and global level. Four volunteers will be placed in Erfurt, Germany in CGE Erfurt e.V. The volunteers will be accommodated in a comfortable, fully equipped shared-flat, 10 min walking distances from the office. The food allowance is given to the volunteers every month, based on the Erasmus+ regulations. The volunteers will be provided with the bikes to travel around the city. Both flat and the office are centre-located, so it is also possible to reach everything by foot. Mentors will be provided (who were ESK volunteers in previous years), and ongoing professional and personal development support.Training during the activity
The learning aspect is located in the middle of the the voluntary activities prism. The volunteering at CGE will allow young people to learn through non-formal experiences, improve existing or acquire new skills for their personal, educational or professional development. There will be welcoming trainings/events and a mentor support for each volunteer. Besides, though the year, the volunteers will be able to attend various local and national trainings to boost their skills.Participant profile
