Description

The Landheim Tellkampfschule wants to combine education with fun and offer young people a place for rest and slowing down, where creativity and imagination can be lived out in community. It has 75 beds and is visited by school classes as well as children's and youth groups, who are offered projects in the areas of sustainability, nature and regionality. The Landheim has extensive outdoor grounds with a soccer and volleyball field, a children's play-ground, a nature trail and an animal enclosure.It is surrounded by fields and woods and is located on the outskirts of Springe (about 30.000 inhabitants), in the Hannover region in northern Germany. The tasks of the volunteers are very diverse and can be designed according to previous experience and interests. The tasks of the volunteers may include: - support in the implementation of activities and projects in the house and the surrounding area - projects in the areas of outdoor education, sustainability, climate and mobility

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The volunteer receives monthly pocket money in the amount of 180 € and food allowance, as well as accommodation on the site of the Landheim Tellkampfschule (shared apartment with another volunteer). General working time is about 35 hours per week, it can be during the weekend or in the evenings. The volunteer gets 24 days of vacation/a year (2 days of vacation per month). We reimburse the costs of travelling to Springe and back at the beginning and at the end of the project. As for the local transport, we provide a bike and a monthly transport ticket (bus and /or train), if needed.

Training during the activity

The volunteer will have a mentor as a guide for the duration of the volunteering activity. The volunteers get the possibility to take part in the meetings of the team and will also have regular meetings with the mentor. Moreover, the volunteer will join the ESC-trainings (on-arrival training and mid-term meeting). In addition to the online German course (OLS), we will organize at least one German course on site (in Springe or Hannover) for the volunteer.

- enjoy working with people (especially children and young people) - enjoy working outdoors and manual work - show openness and be understanding, even with special needs of the guests - be independent, motivated, enthusiastic and interested in sustainability - age: 18 - 30 - ability to speak English and/or German --> motivation to learn German - willing to be alone in the house sometimes (e.g. on weekends when there are no guests) - driving license is not a requirement, but an advantage Every interest or skill you bring is welcome and we are happy if we can make use of it in our work!
