Description de l’activité

You and a second volunteer will be campleading our workcamps during the season. As a campleader you are staying at different locations in Germany with changing international groups lasting for about 2 - 3 weeks for each camp. The work will include the preparation of free time activities, the guidance of the camp participants regarding working and organizational issues as well as the communication with project partners, mediation and the financial responsibility for the workcamps. When there is no workcamps you will support our office in Berlin with different tasks.You are going to support us with the coordination, documentation, promotion and evaluation of the running projects. Modalités d'hébergement, de restauration et de transport

The two volunteers will live together in a house in Berlin at the outskirts of Berlin. Each volunteer will have his/her own room, whilst sharing a bathroom and a kitchen. The place is located remotely in a forested area. The train ride to the city center takes about 1 hour each way. The volunteers will be given a monthly pass for the public transport in Berlin free of charge. Money for food will be provided according to the guidelines of the ESC (8,20 €/ day; about 246 € per month). Pocket money will be provided on a monthly basis (5 €/day; about 150 € per month).

Formation pendant l’activité

During the ESC, the volunteers will be able to consolidate their skills and competences during the teamer’s training seminar. Furthermore, the volunteers are going to attend one or two (depending on availability) mandatory seminars in different German cities in order to reflect on their learning progress and to get to know volunteers from other institutions all over the country. A mentor is going to facilitate the learning process and help out with any problems that may occur during the service.

Profil du participant

As a volunteer at VJF you are not going to need any special skills since the focus is going to be on your personal development. However, it is important that the volunteers speak German! Also, and good skills in written and spoken English are needed. Working at VJF requires a teamwork spirit as well as the ability to work independently. Experiences in (intercultural) work camps are highly appreciated. Knowledge in MS Office, picture or graphic editing, photography, movie-making or visual arts are a plus. We welcome tolerant, motivated and self-confident applicants with a good sense of humour!
