Opis dejavnosti

The volunteering takes place in a holiday centre, la Martégale, in a small village (Ancelle) near Gap (Hautes-Alpes) surrounded by mountains : https://www.lamartegale.com/. The holiday centre is owned by the city of Martigues and managed by the Fédération des oeuvres laïques du Rhône et de la Métropole. The holiday centre welcomes holiday camps, individuals, families and school trips. The centre is an ecotourism place, with a vegetable garden, compost and chickens. The team raises awarness about food wastage, water saving and promotes environmental projects. As a volunteer, your taks will be : - Taking care of the vegetable garden / compost / chickens - Organising activities about sustainable development (arts and crafts, orienteering, sports...) for kids and families at the centre - Promoting intercultural activities : European citizenship, activities about your country... - Organising an individual project depending on your interests The team will support you in your tasks

Nastanitev, prehrana in prevoz

Travel to and from the volunteering place is covered (depending on the ESC scale). The volunteer will be hosted at the holiday centre in an private room with access to a kitchen. When the centre is opened to groups (spring holidays, summer holidays...), the meals will be provided. There is no public transportation in Ancelle but the volunteer will have access to a bike and the car centre depending on avaibilities. The village (Ancelle) is at 10 minutes walk from la Martégale. According to the programme, a small allowance is provided to personnal expenses.

Usposabljanje med dejavnostjo

The volunteer will have access to linguistic support (online platform and indivual course with a member of the staff depending on needs and avaibilities) and to the trainings organised by the National Agency. The volunteer will be able to attend to all the meetings, trainings and work groups organised by the host organisation. The volunteer will have a tutor at the holiday centre. Depending on possibilities and avaibilities, the volunteer will attend to team meeting around Lyon.

Profil udeleženca

The volunteer has to be confortable to live in an rural area surrounded by mountains and to work outside in different weather conditions. The volunteering place is a holiday centre with different activity periods : the centre can be crowded during holidays or empty when there is no groups. The volunteer has to be willing to work with children (a clean police record will be asked).
