1 year LGBTIQ+ volunteering: youth programme co-creator

Descrierea activității

You will work in a team of queer people and get to know the Slovenian LGBTIQ+ community while designing, organising and implementing activities and events for youth. Your responsibilities: Organisation of bi-weekly events for young LGBTIQ+ activists called Pride connects Organisation of activities and actions on important issues / dates, such as mobilising for election and commemorating IDAHOBIT Planning of networking events for the community such as Lesbian bar and Lesbian picnic Organising events in the programme of Ljubljana Pride festival 2023 Development and coordination of production of sustainable, recycled rainbow merchandise Creating social media content and building the image of the Youth Programme Working with and coordinating volunteers at Ljubljana Pride festival 2023 Assisting in daily operations in the office, logistical and administrative support

The project includes: Fully funded travel and accommodation Covered food expenses and pocket money Mentoring and Youthpass certificate Health insurance for non-Slovene residents Language support COVID testing for travel purposes

Formare pe durata activității

You will be included in the daily work and activities of the association. You will be supported by a working coordinator and a mentor. The work will be mainly carried out in the office or in the field; due to COVID regulations, occasional working from home could happen. During your activity, you will participate in an on-arrival and mid-term training organised by the national agency, where you will get to meet the other ESC volunteers from Slovenia.

About you: You’re LGBTIQ+ You are between 18 and 30 years old You are a resident of EU You have a strong interest in LGBTIQ+ organisations, topics and politics You have previous work or volunteer experience in the field of LGBTIQ+ event organising You are responsible, have a proactive attitude and take self initiative You are comfortable with working in office environments and having an office routine You are also able to occasionally work in the field, on the weekends or in the evenings You are enthusiastic about working with youth You are able to fluently communicate in English
