Activity description

The main mission of the volunteer will be to support the team in all its activities related to migration issue. More concretely, the volunteer will have the following tasks: coordination of local projects called "We Instead of THem" for W.I.TH Action and search for new local partners (more info here : https://javva.org/actions-locales-projet-with-2/) one/month , project development with volunteers placed in centres for asylum seekers (ex: raising-awareness events, promotion of volunteering activities among residents,…), participation to/co-leading of an international workcamp, support to local volunteers willing to set up an initiative related to this topic, raising awareness activities (JAVVA@School, training on pedagogical tools, creation of new tools,…), be team leader for international volunteer coming to Belgium, participation to the community life of the organisation (team meeting, communication team)

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Volunteer will be accommodated in a shared flat in Brussels. The volunteer will get a travel-card for local public transportation and will receive a monthly allowance in order to buy food and also pocket money.

Training during the activity

The volunteer will have the opportunity to join arrival and mid term training organised by our National Agency. Furthermore, the volunteer will also have the opportunity to join many trainings to improve the knowledge and skills about asylium situation in Belgium, non formal education or any workshop the volunteer could find interesting for the project. Also, the volunteer will be stringly invited to join our training to become an intercultural leader.

Participant profile

We are looking for an open-minded volunteer who is interested by migration issues and youth work and willing to learn more about it. We are not looking for any specific skill, motivation being the most important criteria for the selection. If you are interested in this project, please write a PROJECT-RELATED motivation letter in your application. Also, to have a good French is obligatory.
