Activity description

NEW DEADLINE: 25.08.2022 - ONLY FOR EU APPLICANTS! The "Kita SieKids Villa Pusteblume" is a bilingual (German/French) day care centre in Karlsruhe. It offers a full-day childcare from 7am to 5:30pm for 83 children separated in 6 groups. You will work in the group with kids in age 0-3 years. A various program for the children is offered: besides playing together, the kids can experience themselves by playing and working with art and colours, doing sports, by expressing curiosity in experiments and natural sciences, playing theatre or doing handicrafts. The children are always accompanied by the educators, and the main goal is that the interests of the children are being supported by the educators and the volunteers. Lunch and snack are provided for the childran and also for the volunteers. You have 5 weeks of holiday. Ordninger for innkvartering, mat og transport

You will be accommodated in a big house with other 6 international ESC volunteers. You will share with them kitchen, a yard, 2 bathrooms and a living room, and you will experience a beautiful community life. You will have your room, plus the house has a little guest room. The accomodation costs are covered by the project. You will receive approx. 150 € pocket money and approx. 270 € for food every month. Training during the activity

You will take part to two seminars of 5 and 7 days each: these consist in trainings organized by the National Agency, and allow you to meet other ESC volunteers in germany, share your experiences, learn and talk about the main concepts of the European Solidarity Corps. The meetings take place in different cities in Germany. You also have the possibility to attend a course to become a youth leader, a language training, a first aid course, a climbing course and a life guard course. all of these offers allow you to work with kids and youngsters during your voluntary service and in the future.

Participant profile

• At least 18 years old • Interest in educational work • Interest and some experiences in working with children in age 0-3 • Good knowledge of English and possibly French (understanding, speaking, writing, reading), basic skills in German would be helpful but aren’t mandatory • having an accredited sending organization. (PIC number, accreditation number, name and contacts on sending organization) • Open to get to know Germany and German culture and interested to live in another country for a year.
