Activities and lifestyles are changing with the seasons. In spring and summer volunteers are mainly working outside, while in late autumn and winter there is time to do more indoor tasks. The most important tasks of the volunteers include: - Maintaining the facilities of the Volunteers’ Station and around the Bear Refuge - Welcoming and informing visitors in different languages, including Croatian - Taking part in promotional events, festivities, and presentations. We are willing to host young people with fewer opportunities, but this should be openly communicated in advance. Διαμονή, διατροφή και έξοδα μετακίνησης

Accommodation: In Kuterevo village, in houses of local people. Rooms will be shared with other volunteers and they are few minutes walk from the Refuge. Food: Food is prepared in the Volunteers’ Station by the volunteers, in kitchen teams. Food in the Volunteers’ Stations is vegetarian. Pocket money: 150 EUR per month (5 EUR per day), received in the beginning of each month Travel to the venue: Reimbursement of the travel tickets will be done according to the rules of the ESC program. The environmental way of travelling (train, bus, etc.) is strongly encouraged.

Κατάρτιση κατά τη δραστηριότητα

Volunteers will have opportunity to learn about bears and nature, and will be encouraged to participate in seminars or trainings that will be happening during their volunteering. It is one our the aims of the project to provide space for personal growth of volunteers, so they will be encouraged to participate in educational activities.

Προφίλ συμμετέχοντος

Volunteering projects taking place in Kuterevo are unique. Living in a mountain village, with seasons, with other volunteers, with animals has its own specificities, challenges and beauties. Volunteers should have a lot of goodwill for: • Taking care of different animals • Learning the domestic language • Welcoming and informing visitors, pilgrims, and nomads • Maintaining relations with friends of the organization, in particular, elders • Living with others, living simply (frugality), and learning informally with self-evaluation and group reflection
