Activity description

The Youth developer & coordinator for BACKA, in Stockholm, will take part of planning and coordinating activities, trainings, workshops that involves question regarding equality and female empowerment together with youths. Besides coordinating weekly activities for the organization, the role also involves developing and youth steering committee, plan meeting with our volunteers & leaders. A part of the role will also include to be a part of the international work that Backa is developing. The youth developer & coordinator will, in support of operations manager, take part of the meetings, find new networks, collaborations and potential new projects to work on and write future applications.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

All costs are covered by the European Solidarity Corps program. Accommodation will be found by Fryshuset. Food and pocket money we will transfer to volunteers` bank accounts monthly.

Training during the activity

You will get 2 trainings during your volunteering, once you arrive, the Swedish National Agency will organize on-arrival and mid-term training. Also, there will be a Swedish course for the volunteers.

Participant profile

The candidate should have some work- or educational -experience in equality for women. The person should have an insight in structural injustice and how it impacts people on individual level. Its advantageous if the person is initiative, structured, have organizational skills and experience in coordinating and planning. We see that it’s easy for the person to engage with youths and other co-workers to create the best circumstances for girls in all of the projects. It’s also good if the candidate have some kind of experience in working with admin, planning, scheduling and budget.
