The aim of the activity is to design and create a botanical garden within the framework of a rural educational farm for children and youth with fewer opportunities. In addition to contributing to the development of the rural community and creating the foundation for the implementation of further programs in the educational center, volunteers will develop personal and professional skills during the first activity. The increase in knowledge in the field of using technology in organic farming, planting and processing medicinal plants, and implementing ecological programs for children and young people is particularly significant. The planned activities of the volunteers include: preparation of the terrain for the botanical garden; designing the concept of the botanical garden; planting and processing of medicinal plants; support in the regular maintenance of the eco farm.

Volunteers will be accommodated in a rural house (Eco farm Greenville) of the Association Pozitiva Samobor, in 2-6 person bedrooms, with shared bathrooms and common areas. House is located 2 km from the city center of Samobor. It is surrounded with garden, orchard and a public football and basketball playground. Accommodation, 3 meals per day (1 prepared by volunteers and 2 by staff) as well as pocket money are covered from the project budget. Volunteers are in charge of buying their tickets in advance, while the reimbursement will be done after the main activity.

Introductory training by hosting organization will be provided at the beginning of the main activity, and will include task-related, linguistic, intercultural and safety preparation of the volunteers.

To apply for this project, the candidates have to be: - young people between 18 and 30 years old; - advantage is given to young people with fewer opportunities, especially with geographic, social and economic obstacles; - motivated to take part in the project, ready to spend time in rural environment and ready to take an active part in all of the mentioned activities / tasks; - interested to develop their skills; motivated to work and live in an intercultural environment; - ready to comply with the project & house rules; - no previous experience, qualifications or knowledge is needed.
