Youth of tomorrow in Ventspils, Latvia

Activity description

We are looking for 4 volunteers until December 20, 2024,to support the activities of our organization in Ventspils and Ventspils region, Latvia. You will have the chance to organize your own initiatives,create events for kids and youngsters in schools or open events,organize creative workshops for kids with disabilities, participate as team leader in summer camps, etc. You will get to know different cultures through participating in various events, activities, youth projects with young people and youth organisations from all Latvia. You will also have space and support for your personal project, and Latvian language courses during this project.This project is a great opportunity to live in a small, quiet town, enjoy the beautiful nature of Latvia, get to know the capital Riga and other foreign volunteers in various training. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Food, accommodation, health insurance and pocket money are provided by European Solidarity Corps Program. You will be accommodated together with other volunteers from this project. The main facilities are provided (fully equipped kitchen, washing machine, wifi). Round GREEN TRAVEL* allowance (From home country to Latvia and back to your home country)will be granted. *Green travel - Choosing an environmentally friendly mode of transport (bus, ferry, train..) You will be granted the possibility to travel in Ventspils town with local transportation or to travel around by bikes.

Training during the activity

The volunteers will be able to access different training opportunities regarding project management and in topics such as non-formal education, outdoor activities and nature guided education, project management, work with kids with disabilities, environment awareness, digitization and STEAM skills, education and more. Long term volunteers have on arrival training and midterm training together with other volunteers in Latvia, it is provided by Latvian National Youth agency. Participant profile

Youngsters age between 18 and 30 years, residents of EU countries . We would prefer you to be interested in working in a team, communication, photography, editing and filming videos, social networks, organising events and leading some workshops for youngsters, kids and leading your native language clubs.
