Ansøgningsfristen er udløbet.

Beskrivelse af aktiviteten

Through this project BDC aims to engage a participant with excluded community through partner organizations and people who suffer from different disabilities. As these people have special needs, they can much easier develop their individual skills through direct contact and personal experience with young people from abroad and so support their inclusion in the future. They learn new culture, habits, and study new language. A volunteer will help, support and assist the young people with disabilities. In this way they create peer to peer relationships, build a more inclusive society, and encourage vulnerable members of society. Specifically, a volunteer will assist clients during therapies (Ergotherapy, Musictherapy, Artetherapy), support development of their individual skills, their independence and social integration - arrange leisure time activities and events, being open to communicate about different topics, help with dining, and basic hygiene, among other.

Logi, mad og transport

Bratislavské dobrovoľnícke centrum (as hosting and coordinating organization) will provide an adequate place to live - a room furnished with basic equipment in a shared flat or house together with other ESC volunteers. BDC is responsible and provides a volunteer with pocket money covering food, local transport costs and travel arrangements to and from Bratislava within a standard of living in the hosting country.

Oplæring under aktiviteten

BDC will take care of the Orientation training upon arrival and provides additional trainings to improve soft skills such as time management, project management, financial literacy, etc. on a regular basis, and every 3 months organizes a mandatory supervision meeting so a participant can reflect upon own experience. Rafael provides introductory training directly related to the skills necessary to do a particular job. Further, a volunteer is obliged to attend On-arrival and Mid-term training organized by the National Agency and at the end of the project gains the Youthpass certificate.

Deltagerens profil

Mentioned community consists of people (25-50 years old) who have mental and physical disabilities. A participant should be creative and proactive (bringing new ideas for activities), empathetic and communicative, enjoying non-stereotype work as life in the center can be dynamic according to the actual needs of the clients. A volunteer must speak SPANISH and English (level of B1). We appreciate if a volunteer wants to learn Slovak (BDC provides the language course and conversations). The volunteer will work in a team, but at the same time an individual approach to people is necessary.
