Activity description

The 'Foyer de l'Enfance' is the only establishment in the department open 24h/24h, 365 days/year, which is ready to welcome all kinds of ill-treated children, children in pain, teenagers in difficulties and mothers in precarious situation. This institution is involved in the ESC program since many years and happy to welcome young european volunteers interested in supporting the team and the establishment project and in extending a hand to a child. The volunteer will be an help in accompanying children on a daily basis. He/she will have to be interested in children and bring his/her creativity, self-control, openmindedness during the project. He/she can propose activities and animations. His/her tasks : spending time with children, making it fun and interesting, looking after them during activities, during homeworks, sport activities, trips, walks and other events. These activities mage the children feel better and help them to build up rules and social relations.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The volunteer will benefif of food during his/her whole service time in France. He/she will be lodged in a residence also welcoming students and young workers, in an individual studio with small kitchen and bathroom, in Strasbourg city. The institution will organize his/her transport from housing to the workplace.

Training during the activity

The volunteer will benefit of the ESC seminar organized by the french national agency. He/she will also have to participate to the seminar organized by our coordinating organization ICE-RF at the end of novembre 2022 and have the possibility to take part to the other ICE-RF seminar taking place from the 23rd till 30th of april 2023. The volunteer will also benefit of a french training course.

Participant profile

The volunteer needs to be adult (18-28 years old) and have some french language basics to communicate with the team and children. Driving license would be a "+", as well as some artistics and/or sports competences. Interest for work with children and teenagers.
