Let's Play Again

Activity description

The project "Let's Play Again" will take place in Cluj-Napoca, placed in the heart of Transylvania, the north-west part of Romania. Csemete Foundation has the honor and privilege to host and coordinate the project, which collaborates with the Csemete Nursery School. The project is designed for minority children. The objectives are to teach these Hungarian minority children using the playing and games as special method to become self-confident and aware adults, with equal rights and chances to integrate into a developing society, and play their role as European citizens. The activities are designed and adapted to the age of the children, because they discover the world and learn by imitating and playing. Using this ludic method, which is archaic and innovative in the same time, we planned to teach them Romanian, Hungarian and English, adapted to their own age group, to teach them to swim, to skate, to teach them self-respect and respect of the others, and other values as tolerance.

Ordninger for innkvartering, mat og transport

Accommodation will be in two rooms. Volunteers will have to share by twos a room. The volunteer will receive weekly five lunches from Monday to Friday, two snacks daily, and 316 RON for the rest of meals transferred to his/her bank account. The Foundation and the accommodation are in the center, so there is no need for transportation. The Coordinating organisation will take care of transportation from the country of volunteer to Cluj-Napoca, where the project takes place.

Training during the activity

On arrival training, mid-term evaluation, Hungarian language course, task related training.

Participant profile

The candidates have to come from Germany, from JWürttemberg, Europahaus Aurich, Aha Tipps, Agapedia. Their age has to be between 17-30 years. They have to love and want to work with small minority children (aged one to six). It is an advantage to have a basic knowledge of English, in order to be able to work together in the project. We are looking for dedicated, motivated, hard working young persons, who have a real interest in working with children, as this is a long term project. It is also an advantage if the candidates like to play, know to swim, ice-skate, play music and love photography.
