« Music Fund » is a non-profit association based in Belgium with an expertise centre in Marche en Famenne, a town located in the French part of Belgium. It aims to promote music as an instrument to develop social projects for young people, mostly in conflict zones and developing countries, with the slogan “Give music a chance”. Web: http://musicfund.eu/about/history-philosophy/ Supported by an expert organization (CBB), it will be the second time that Music Fund welcomes an ESC volunteer. The volunteer will have the opportunity to participate in all their activities taking place in the warehouse: administrative and cultural. Also, the volunteer will be greatly encouraged to create a personal project inside the organisation with the great support of the Music fund. The goal is to help the association in their daily tasks (in the atelier and warehouse), share their activities with the general public and help with event organisation.Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
The volunteers will have a private room in a fully-equipped shared house in the city of Marche en Famenne, with other ESC volunteers. Food: the volunteer will receive a budget and will take care of the meals by her/himself. Participation in the European Solidarity Corps is free of charge for the participant, except for exceptional contribution to travel costs. The volunteer will participate in on-arrival and mid-term seminars organized by the French-speaking National Agency of Belgium. The volunteer will have the opportunity to accompany students while fixing the instruments. While not being training as such, s/he will benefit from it. This project involves working with different age groups, organizing and follow-up musical concerts and some administrative activities, we expect the volunteer to be very motivated to join the activity, to be open-minded, creative and proactive. Volunteers with basic musical education are encouraged to apply (but it is not compulsory).
