Assistant in educational programs for refugees

Descripción de la actividad

We provide support to young refugees and asylum seekers in different aspects of their inclusion in society and one of them is education - we teach English language, programming and digital literacy. We believe that everybody has the right to equal opportunities regarding their education. Volunteers will be helping our staff in organizing the courses and classes in our educational programs and carry out some of them themself. Some of the tasks will include: - helping our program manager in the organization of the course - assisting our teachers and students in programming classes (no need of tech knowledge) - supporting our students in their learning process - monitoring the progress of our students - communicating on our channels and in email with our students - carrying out digital literacy classes and English classes

Alojamiento, manutención y transporte

Travel costs: covered according to EU distance calculator, Accommodation: In shared accommodation with other volunteers (possibility of sharing a bedroom with one more volunteer of the same sex) , monthly allowance (food and pocket money), Public transport: A bicycle will be provided, Language support: basic language support through EU platform OLS, Health Insurance coverage and potential visa and residence permit costs coverage.

Formación durante la actividad

The organization provides onboarding training for all the volunteers. An On arrival and Mid-term training will be provided by Croatian National Agency and pre-departure training for the volunteer will be organized by the supporting organization.

Perfil del participante

We're looking for someone who is interested in: adult education, interested in teaching methods and organization of educational activities, interested in digital and tech topics, quality of education, and teaching others. Doesn't need to know programming but their previous interest in digital and tech subjects is a plus. Previous interest in the field of education (especially adult) and transferring knowledge will also be considered a plus.
