Hippotherapy is a treatment with the help of a horse. Today, equine-assisted therapy is incorporated into physical, occupational and speech language therapy plans world-wide. Equine-assisted activities (EAA) involve horse related skills (such as riding) and are used to improve quality of life. Ample evidence supports that hippotherapy is successful. The horse's rhythmical movement, resembling the human gait has both physical and psychosocial benefits. Through this project volunteers; - will have chance to get to know, and spend time with horses, animals, and environment, - will work with children, and people with special needs, organize activities, - might have observe hippotherapy sessions, - will arrange speaking clubs, organize events for special days.

Alloggio, vitto e trasporto

Volunteers will be accommodated in a guesthouse. According to the availability, they will stay in private rooms or they will share the room with other volunteers.

Formazione durante l'attività

Volunteers will; - receive training related to horses, and at least basic knowledge about hippotherapy, - have chance to meet professors, health professionals for learning different perspectives about hippotherapy, - will receive Turkish course. In addition to these trainings, volunteers will have chance to receive different trainings on daily different topics such as first-aid, disaster management etc.

Profilo del partecipante

A volunteer who; - is motivated to work with disabled people, - loves animals, and abstain from taking care of animals as cleaning barns, feeding, - likes being in natural environment, - will bring positive energy, - likes social interactions with different groups of people.
