Description
NGO IniciativAngola is looking for one motivated, enthusiastic and open volunteer for the opportunity to work in an international environment, to learn about solidarity with people in Africa and worldwide while acquiring new skills in the field of education, volunteering and youth. We encourage YOU to contribute your talents for your unprivileged peers in the Global South countries. We are guided by Christian values and support fair investments. Social and communicative abilities, orientation to help, experience in working with young people, motivation to work with new technologies (especially social networks), and other skills that can be useful for voluntary activities, e.g. crafts, design, music, sports, etc. The opportunity is open for all interested volunteers between 18 and 30 years old and residents in one of the program countries or one of the partner countries.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Participants will be staying in a student dormitory in Klagenfurt: You will get a room with your own bathroom, kitchen and other facilities (e.g. laundry) are shared. The student dormitory is part of bigger educational institution, which is offering meals in a building accros the street - you will recieve coupons for lunch during the week. Breakfasts, dinners and meals during the weekends will be in your responsability. For food you will receive appropriate amount. There will be a bike at your disposal. According to the activities, you will receive a yearly ticket for city bus.
Training during the activity
You will attend the preparation meeting offered by your local (sending) organisation. While staying in Austria, you will attend On-Arrival training and Mid-Term meeting organised by the Austrian national agency. After returning home, you will be invited to another meeting organised at local level. During the activity period, we offer to each volunteer either private lessons German or a course, which is part of the working time. Our organisation is implementing different workshops and seminars on different topics: sustainable living, spiritual life, recycling, etc.
Participant profile
We are looking for one motivated and creative volunteer, who is ready to involve in our activities. We also expect that you have basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, social and communicative abilities, orientation to help, experience in working with young people, you like to work with social networks and in European programs for youngsters. Other skills that can be useful for voluntary activities, e. g. creativity, design, music, sports ... We expect you to be open to the differences, open-minded, spontaneous, ready for a project type of work, proactive, and responsible.
