Volunteering in a Gallo-Roman farm (Archeoparc Malagne)

Pasākuma apraksts

Malagne Archéoparc is a non-profit organisation managing a Gallo-roman archaeological site. Its aims are to enhance and protect the heritages, to pass on and share knowledges about Gallo roman history through know-hows and techniques,to make the past alive through scientific researches based on experimental archaeology, through animals living on site... and rediscovering of old techniques. The volunteers' (2) tasks will be to help in mostly manual tasks: gardening, fixing fences, pruning, building shelters and bridgefoot, taking care of the animals to help the team in the maintenance of the archeological site. To a lesser extent, volunteers can be involved in pedagogical tasks: helping the pedagogical staff with groups of children visiting, supporting during the re-enactement event, showing how to bake bread, forge with traditional techniques. Dzīvošana, ēdināšana un transports

Accommodation: the volunteers will have a private room in a fully-equipped shared house or apartment in the city of Rochefort with other ESC volunteers (1.5 km away from the Archéoparc). Food: the volunteer will receive a budget and will take care of the meals by her/himself. Participation in the ESC is free of charge for the participant, except for exceptional contribution to travel costs. The volunteer will receive free board and lodging during the whole activity. In addition, she/he will receive a small allowance (pocket money) for personal expenses throughout the duration of the activity
