Description de l’activité

This is a volunteering opportunity that aims to enhance the outreach of the Home for Cooperation project, implemented by the Association for Historical Dialogue and Research (AHDR) and promote solidarity, culture of peace, dialogue and cooperation to a wider audience for a more inclusive society. Main duties: Assist in the execution of communication strategy, Offer administrative support to programs and projects, Create and edit communications copy (e.g. press releases, publications, social media posts), Help to maintain web content and implementation of social media strategies. Track projects and media exposure as well as update databases and media lists, Help in researching, writing, and editing content for distribution including photos and videos. Assist the team in the design and organization of events, Prepare communication plans per activity, Assist in translation of the communication materials as needed, collect data, prepare reports/presentations.

Modalités d'hébergement, de restauration et de transport

The volunteers will have the chance to live in a furnished rented flat shared with other volunteers, close to the office and not far from the centre of the town if they choose to. The flat contains all the necessary amenities and is divided in different rooms, kitchen and bathroom. The volunteers will have their own bedroom, a shared kitchen and bathroom. In addition, they will have the option of using a bike from the H4C free of charge for their convenience. Pocket money will be given on a monthly basis (5€ per day). A food allowance of 150€ will be provided per month per volunteer.

Formation pendant l’activité

The volunteers will be offered free of charge language support either online or on-site at the Home for Cooperation. The volunteers will be expected to dedicate around two hours a week to attend the language courses. All the staff of AHDR/H4C who coordinate projects, will be working closely with the volunteers, in order to provide on-the-job training, constant support and mentorship, ensuring the participant is making the most of their time.

Profil du participant

• Young people (18-30 years old) • Volunteers with an interest in History, Education, Peace Studies, Conflict Resolution, Human Rights or any other related disciplines • Must have a sending organization outside of Cyprus • Motivated and creative • Has enthusiasm and commitment • Flexibility and capability to work independently and also in a team • Volunteers who have curiosity and open- mindedness to learn and grow with us
