Description

Each volunteer will know different areas of service in order to be able to acquire information and skills on different topics, but will carry out their service in a prevalent, established area together on the basis of his/her training, his/her interests, the aptitudes but also the needs of the association and the territory. The activities will be carried out in the following areas: - integration of asylum seekers and refugees,with greater attention to families and school-age children; - assistance and integration of unaccompanied foreign minors; - creation of workshops and projects that use artistic forms to give a message of the importance of human rights and, at the same time, can be a help for young people at risk of deviance; - assistance and support to homeless people and people in socio-economic difficulty; - activities to prevent school dropout and the risk of delinquency among local young people; - fight against food waste and food support for families.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The volunteers will live in an apartment, in a double room. The house consists of 2 bedrooms, a living room/kitchen, a WC, a bathroom and a balcony. It is located just few minutes by bicycle and 15 minutes walking from the historic downtown of Bolzano.The city is well served with cycle paths and each volunteer will be given a free card to use the public transport during the whole period of ESC. The volunteers can go weekly to the supermarket, with which the association has an agreement to which the invoice is sent directly to the association, so volunteers should not anticipate anything.

Training during the activity

Active listening and introduction on the right and the rules of the international protection.

Participant profile

We are looking for 1 volunteer available for 8 months (mid January/February until the end of September 2023). No special skills are required. Flexibility, adaptability and interest in the topics are needed. Interest in creativity can be useful.
