Activity description

Our organization „Atelier of Treasures“ Betzata community is waiting for you to be a part of our catholic community together with adults with mental disabilities, craftsmen, social workers and Lithuanian volunteers. The main task for the volunteer is to build relationships with people with special needs and assist in their daily work: to teach the rhythm of work, to help them in order they would be able to make things by themselves, to work together creating wooden things, to eat together, to spend time together in the celebrations, festivals, and camps. Also, to help arrive to the atelier from home and to assist in coming back.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Accomodation: - personal room in 3-room appartment, common spaces shared with other volunteers; Transport: - monthly bus ticket provided. Moreover, organization has its own transport and takes volunteers to and from work,

Training during the activity

- online Lithuanian language course - on-arrival with national agency - mid-term with national agency

Participant profile

Open minded person who could see a friend in disabled people and would like to learn working with wood.
