Activity description
Through this program we will try to engage participants in different outdoor activities in order to promote healthier lifestyles and overall well-being, while discovering the local community. They will also be included in training sessions that will help them to be more informed about sustainable consumption. In this way participants will gain new skills and competences useful for their personal and social development. As a matter of fact, during the two weeks participants will have the opportunity to be involved in different types of activities, like: onsite activities in a local urban garden; study visits to local organisations specialised in urban gardening with the engagement of the local community and workshops. At the end of the second week there will also be the occasion to organise an event with the local community at one of the city's urban garden. Accommodation: Villa Sant’Ignazio (https://www.vsi.it/). Participants will be in shared rooms (2 or 3 people per room divided by gender) and breakfast will be included. Other meals will be included according to the schedule of the activities. The place is surrounded by nature and in other parts of the building hosts some local organisations: helping migrants or working in sustainable farming and inclusion of vulnerable people. The training sessions will focus mainly on the following topics: - Conscious consumption - Sustainable farming (focus on urban farming) - Engaging the local community in gardening activities - Healthy lifestyles The contents of the workshops will be discussed with different learning methods with experts and local organizations that have experience with the topics.Participant profile
We are searching for someone who can work in a team. Our projects are generally open to young people who want to become volunteers in the 18-30 age range. Previous work experience and qualifications may be useful but not necessary. We are looking for proactive, motivated, empathic, creative people with good communication skills. You do not need to have any experience abroad. The project is open to fewer opportunities profiles, if you consider yourself in these categories, indicate it in the motivation letter.Activity dates
