Activity description

The Crossroads aims to transform an Urban Villa into an Eco Sustainable Community Lifestyle Project. After renovating a century villa from an abandoned, neglected place into a beautiful oasis with food forest, herbal garden, natural building constructions and the space for cultural exchange, community building, arts, personal growth and development, the next step is to focus even more on renewable energy such as solar power, reduction and awareness of water consumption, sustainability and self-sufficiency in terms of farming and gardening respecting permaculture methods. The goals are: to complete the transformation of the urban villa into a self-sufficient eco project and to actively contribute in the cultural, social, economical and ecological regeneration of the town, creating a healthy structure embedded in nature that facilitates relations, where humans can prosper, engaged in learning and sharing new skills and experiences, and having a safe space for personal growth.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The volunteers will be accommodated in a special section of the restored villa that has 8 separate twin bedrooms, a kitchen, sanitary facilities and a food forest in the backyard. There is also the family hotel Leto, another supportive infrastructure with a capacity of 7 separate twin bedrooms and a communal area that can host short or long term individual volunteers or volunteering teams within 5 mins walking distance from the villa.
