Activity description

TECHO Guatemala works with 24 communities around the country, in its 3 regional headquarters in the Central, West and North zone, covering several departments of the country. It implements the institution's work model in each community and develops housing programmes and community infrastructure projects in cooperation with the neighbours of the communities themselves. The volunteer is the main responsible for the correct execution of the Community Work Model, follow-up of the expansion and coverage strategy, information gathering, accompaniment of community infrastructure projects. Therefore the details functions are: To guarantee the implementation of the model of work in the territory / To collect information / To lead the strategy of work in communities / To lead the strategy of Expansion and Coverage to reach more territories in each of the offices.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Working conditions: Hybrid work (3 days in office - 2 days teleworking) / Flexible working hours / Constant visits to community / Institutional mail tool and library drive. Living conditions: Accommodation /Transport to community visits and visits to regional headquarters. The volunteer will receive a monthly per diems of 791 € to cover their food and other expenses.

Training during the activity

Volunteers will improve their professional knowledge through training in humanitarian action, and specific issues on security, gender, psychosocial support... and will be provided with training resources to continue their learning. Those selected will receive briefings/training at MdM headquarters in Madrid with the different departments related to the mission and the position, as well as mandatory online training on environmental issues before they start their field work. Training sessions will take place both in the countries of the supporting organisations and in of the host organisations.

Minimum requirements: Professional graduate or student preferably in social sciences degrees. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, Drive and statistical packages (desirable, not exclusive). Budget and project management tools. Experience in people management.
