ESC volonteers at Højboskolen

Activity description

Højboskolen is looking for 4 volunteers from different countries for a period of approximately 10-11 months, who would like to participate in the activities at our school and in the After-School Club. The volunteers’ job consist in participating in different classes, the school canteen and the After-School club. The volunteers will also be doing learning projects within sustainability, as well as and the School FabLab and also including making different events with the pupils. - Participation in the After-School Club 2-3 days a week - Pedagogical and language support to children in language classes – German and English - Pedagogical and practical support in creative and sports classes - Break guide once a day including initiating activities - Participation in implementing a new garbage sorting strategy and other sustainability initiatives - Participation in activity days with the pupils and in the school FAB-LAB - Participation in the school kitchen 2-8 hours a week

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The volunteers will be accommodated close to Højboskolen in an apartment with a little garden together with other volunteers sharing the kitchen, bathroom, toilet and washing facilities. Every volonteer will have their own room and we'll provide a bike to get around locally. The school canteen will provide lunch for the volonteers, and we'll pay you diet and transport money, as well as pockey money. The volunteer’s personal skills/interests will be taken into consideration and an individual time schedule will be made for every volonteer

Training during the activity

National On-arrival training and Mid-term training. Weekly Danish and cultural teaching at the School. Introduction weeks with mentor.

Participant profile

We only accept candidates, who are: - Age between 18-29 - Coming from Spain, Turkey, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Italy, Poland, Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, the Czech Republic, the Nederlands - Experience with working with children is advantageous though not required.
