Raise Awareness about environmental Issues

Activity description

This mission is carried out by Concordia in partnership with the Youth hostel which is working with local actors developping activities opened to all. The main objectives of this mission are to promote sustainable development, good ecological practices, cultural heritage and local initiatives. The missions will take place within the youth hostel and could be the following: - set up cultural animations for the travelers - implement activities to promote good ecological practices and environmental awareness - contact local actors in order to initiate collaborations; - set up with local partners cultural and awareness-raising events on eco-citizen actions (exhibitions, concerts, board games, workshops, film-debates, DIY, zero waste picnics). - set up eco-citizen actions (movies/debates, compost, waste sorting, permaculture bins...) - promote these activities on social media Interviews are planned on the 2nd of June 2023.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

You will share a 90m² flat in Amiens youth hostel, near to the city center. The flat contains 3 rooms, a bathroom and toilets, an equipped kitchen and a washing machine. You can also use the wifi in the whole hostel. The flat is for 3 or 6 people, you may have your own room or you may share it with someone else. The volunteer will receive a food allowance during the first week of the month of 7 euros per day for the food and 6 euros per day for the pocket money. The organization can provide a bicycle or a monthly bus subscription to use in Amiens.

Participant profile

We are looking for someone able to take initiative, who can be a force of proposal. Knowledge in French would be appreciated and previous experience volunteering in the local community.
