Volunteer at a non-profit organization focused on meditation
Stichting MERU/MVU
Vlodrop, Netherlands
Description
MERU (Maharishi European Research University) is the international headquarters of Maharishi's worldwide Transcendental Meditation™ organizations. Its role is to provide knowledge and administration of Maharishi Technology of Consciousness (MTC) for the full development of every individual and a more peaceful, enlightened society worldwide. As a volunteer, you would be contributing to our community of 150 to 200 people working at our campus in the heart of the Dutch National Park De Meinweg, by volunteering in the kitchen and dining services, in the garden or in hospitality services. As part of your participation in the volunteer program at MERU, you will learn Transcendental Meditation and experience a holistic, balanced approach to developing your own full potential.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
MERU offers accommodation that includes your own room in a shared house, freshly prepared organic vegetarian meals, and access to a variety of organic food products. You can choose between receiving a monthly stipend of 230 euro or 270 euro credits (+50 euro cash). The credits can then be used for the Advanced Techniques of Transcendental Meditation, courses, or special Maharishi Ayurveda treatments. Daily transport from and to MERU is arranged for our volunteers. You will also be provided with a bike to explore the beautiful surroundings, such as the National Park De Meinweg.
Training during the activity
At the beginning of your stay, you will learn Transcendental Meditation during a 4-day course with a certified teacher. We organize various programmes for volunteers to deepen their knowledge and integrate the experience of meditation into their daily life. Group meditations and knowledge meetings are held every week. As a volunteer, you can join our celebrations in Maharishi’s House and get a 50% discount on online courses offered by MERU. It is a fantastic and unique place where you can spend your time turning inwards and discovering more about your inner self.
