Support and Promote International Volunteering

INTERNATIONALE BEGEGNUNG IN GEMEINSCHAFTSDIENSTEN

STUTTGART, Germany

The application deadline has passed.

Activity description

International volunteering is a unique tool to promote peace, understanding and the European and human values and to directly support local projects. At the same time, volunteers gain a lot from this experience; they return with new ideas, new skills and new friends. To support our international projects in Germany and to promote international work camps and other volunteering projects to young people, we are looking for a volunteer starting in February or March 2024 . Volunteering duration is 6 or 7 months, depending on your availability. What will be your tasks? • support IBG work camps in Germany (especially our camp leaders or volunteers with special needs, you will yourself become a campleader in 2-3 projects) • support trainings for leaders and volunteers of IBG • run info events about work camps and other IVP in schools, universities, youth clubs and events • other promotion activities for workcamps (e.g. social media) You are very welcome to bring your own ideas!

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

You will be based in Stuttgart, accommodation will be provided. As part of the project you will travel from time to time to other places in Germany to promote volunteering or to support projects. Of course this transport will be covered, as the local transport between the accommodation and the office of IBG. For food you will get a daily budget - during trainings and other projects food will be provided.

Training during the activity

Beside of the standard on-arrival-training and mid-term-evaluation for ESC volunteers, IBG offers additional training opportunities like international group leader training or a training on specific themes like inlcusion or environmental awareness in workcamps. In addition, the IBG team will provide introductions to different topics and organisational aspects. The aim is that you get to know how IBG (and maybe other German NGOs in a similar field) is structured, where challenges are and how we try to develop our organisation. The kind and volume of these sessions depend on your interest.

Participant profile

We aim to start in February or March 2024 and we are looking for a volunteer with: + a first-hand experience in international workcamps or international youth exchanges + B-level in English and German + a drivers’ license valid in Germany and willingness to drive + interest and motivation for creating social media content and promoting international volunteering at various events.
