Activity description

Haus St. Elisabeth is a day care centre for the elderly. 20 adults are cared for bythe centre. The focus is on offering individual support and providing activitiesthat suit the guests’ needs. The guests are all adults aged 25 to 80 withdifferent physical and mental disabilities. Activities include individual and groupactivities, seasonal events, day trips as well as special occasions. Since you willbe working with other volunteers, the hosting organisation will offer monthlyactivities for the team. Your tasks will be: - Accompany and support people with disabilities in their daily lives, e.g.baking and cooking - Support residents in leisure activities: playing, music, sports etc. - Housekeeping tasks

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

You will be provided with a dorm room in the same dorm as other volunteers. You will share the room with another volunteer. A ticket for regional public transport around Baden-Württemberg will be provided. You will be given an allowance as well as additional money for food in accordance with the program guidelines. There are discounted meals available during shifts.

Training during the activity

In addition to the two seminars by the national agency (one week about 4-6 weeks after arrival, another halfway through the program), we will provide a Welcome Event, reflection and support meetings with your mentor and tutor throughout the service as well as a final pre-departure event. Additionally, your hosting organisation will provide you with any training needed for your daily tasks during the service.
