Description

Overall, ActionAid's humanitarian engagement in Kenya is focused on promoting sustainable development and supporting vulnerable communities to build their resilience to crises. The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) volunteer will play a crucial role in supporting the organization's monitoring and evaluation team. The Volunteers’ primary responsibility will be to assist the M&E team in the collection, analysis, and reporting of data to measure the effectiveness and impact of the organization's programs and initiatives. Tasks will include: Support in conducting field visits to collect data from project sites and stakeholders. Assist the MEAL team in cleaning, organizing, and analyzing collected data using statistical software or other relevant tools. Assist in producing regular reports, including data visualizations and summaries, for internal and external stakeholders. Support the M&E team in implementation of M&E plans, including tracking progress against targets

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Accommodation will be provided by AA Kenya. You will have individual housing arrangement, meeting basic health, safety, and comfort standards to ensure your well-being. The house will be modestly furnished, include water and electricity, and may include communal living areas like kitchens and dining rooms. You will need to take public transport to the office, which is around 7km from where you will be staying. You will recieve 350 EUR/month as pocket money to support covering living expenses. Accommodation, visa and airfares will be covered directly by ActionAid.

Training during the activity

The Volunteer will attend an online pre-departure training to prepare participants for the opportunity, as well as an on-arrival training which will introduce the participants to the host country, preparing them for the activity period and the European Solidarity Corps experience. Volunteers will receive a foundational e-learning course on human rights-based approach and induction on AADK and in-country induction in Kenya upon arrival. Participant profile

Strong interest in monitoring and evaluation, data analysis, and social impact assessment. Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with complex data sets. Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and draw insights from data. Effective written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and presentation skills. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work in a dynamic environment. Experience with monitoring and evaluation or research projects is desirable but not mandatory.
