Description

Trans Europe Halles (TEH) is actively looking for a motivated EU Solidarity Corp Volunteers to join its international team in Lund, Sweden, for 1 year starting 1 February 2024! Trans Europe Halles is a pan European network with more than 150 members in 40+ European countries in every part of the continent initiated by citizens and artists. We have been at the forefront of repurposing industrial and commercial buildings for arts, culture and community uses since 1983. TEH members are multidisciplinary spaces that combine artistic and social activities, as they believe that arts and culture have the power to transform people, spaces and societies. The coordination team consists of 11 skilled and motivated people from different professional backgrounds and origins (Europe, Asia, Middle East and Africa), and a long record of international experience. TEH’s communication language is English. Only short-listed candidates will be contacted for the further steps in the matching process.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

You will be accommodated in one of our safe houses either in Malmo or Lund. It takes about15 min bike ride to central city. You will live together in a newly renovated housing complex dating back to the 17th century where you have your own private room and share common facilities such as kitchen, toilet, shower, washing machine, living room and garden. The accommodation is fully equipped with furniture, beds, refrigerator and what else needed. You will be provided with a local bus card and bicycle as well as pocket money. There are several supermarkets available in the city to purchase food.

Training during the activity

Task mentor will prepare a tailor-made professional development programme upon volunteers’ arrival together with the volunteer. Job shadowing with the TEH staff members will be scheduled at the start of the volunteering period for the volunteer to get an overview of the organisation, the projects we are running/part of and the variety of tasks are being carried out by the team on a daily basis. For this opportunity the volunteer will be mentored on a daily basis by our communications team.
