The power of together

Join us in an emerging eco - community: permaculture, health, nature

Vila Flora z.s.

Vrábsko, Czech Republic

Description

We are a community of 15 people living in a beautiful area surrounded by meadows, forests, and ponds, 1,5 hours south of Prague, Czech Republic. Volunteers will take part in a communal lifestyle, assisting in the development of a new eco-community. They will learn about permaculture gardening, tree planting, food preservation, kombucha brewing, and the preparation of vegan and raw food recipes. Additionally, volunteers will acquire skills in managing a community kitchen, operating a zero-waste shop, and general housekeeping. Depending on their interests, volunteers may also take part in activities such as carpet weaving, sewing, soap making, natural building, or wood carving. Each community member has unique interests and passions, offering a wonderful opportunity for mutual learning simply by living together. Participants will have the chance to enhance their communication skills through non-violent methods, &discover their most authentic selves. Apply https://spoluzemevrabsko.cz/esc/

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The accommodation consists of a shared room for two people. The room is located in a farmhouse, which serves as the main communal area. It includes a well-equipped kitchen, laundry room, common room with a dining area, Wi-Fi, and a bathroom with a shower and toilet. Food is provided by FoodHub, which supplies communal food consisting of organic, quality basic ingredients. With these ingredients, we prepare vegan meals. The nearest town, Čimelice, is located 3 km from our village. We can transport volunteers there, or they have the option to walk or ride bikes. Prague is an hour from Čimelice.

Training during the activity

The project offers a unique learning experience, providing numerous opportunities for informal learning across various areas such as sustainability, self-sufficiency, self-development, and healthy community living. The project aims to deliver educational value to volunteers, both hard competencies (like gardening, cooking, and food preservation) and soft competencies (such as communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution). Furthermore, workshops will be held based on topics chosen by the volunteers.
