Description

The foundation aims to protect cultural heritage through recording endangered practices, skills and knowledge in Galicia by prioritising co-production of Galician history, supporting maintenance and development of privately owned heritage houses with the support of inter-regional cooperation and active participation of young people and volunteers. Action to Protect - Cultural Heritage Programme is the individual volunteering activity that will include 2 long term volunteers from 2 different project partner countries during 12 months.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The foundation will offer monthly pocket money and food allowances, and their travel will be covered in line with the applicable rules and regulations of European Solidarity Corps 2023 guide. The volunteers will stay in a cosy apartment in A Coruña, near to the city center and various shops. They will be co-housing with other ESC volunteers of the foundation. The activities will take place both in the city center A Coruña city center and at Pazo de Illobre in Betanzos. It will be provided the free access to local transportation to facilitate participation for the activities.

Training during the activity

The volunteers will receive on-the-job training from the foundation team regarding to the activities and mobility. The volunteers have the right and obligation to attend following TEC trainings: - pre-departure training for participants by supporting organisations, - on-arrival training (volunteering activities of at least 2 months) by Spanish National Agency, - mid-term evaluation (only volunteering activities of 6 months and longer) by Spanish National Agency.

Participant profile

- Demonstrated enthusiasm for cultural heritage, coupled with a genuine commitment to its preservation and promotion. - Strong interpersonal and communication skills, essential for effectively engaging with diverse audiences. - Proficiency in managing social media platforms, with the ability to foster online community engagement. - Competence in graphic design, enabling the creation of visually compelling materials to support our initiatives. - Prior experience in non-formal education, cultural heritage, or related fields is advantageous. - Basic proficiency in Spanish (not obligatory)
